MECO Employee Spotlight: Chris Woods

Chris Woods is currently our Scheduling Manager. His job focuses on overseeing the whole production process here at MECO, from when the order is placed to when it leaves the shipping door.

His first position here at MECO was quite varied as far as duties as a general laborer. These duties ranged from spending a month in the main line to being one of the first operators on the coil line. The next few years were spent working in the quality department, followed by his current position.

Accomplishments at MECO:

The main goals I have accomplished at MECO have been growing with the company through the years and all of the changes that have happened.

Best advice:

My advice to anyone new at MECO, or any other job, is to be on time to work and enjoy what you do every day. This will make your work days more enjoyable and beneficial for both yourself and your co-workers.

Something else to accomplish:

My main goal is to stay the course and keep moving forward as MECO continues to grow.

Outside interests:

I love sports and more importantly, I love all Husker athletic-related things, from football to volleyball, to wrestling. I also enjoy being outside, near the lake and even doing yard work or snow removal.

Favorite vacation spots:

My favorite vacation spot is anywhere near a lake or body of water. I love the smell of the great outdoors and the crispness in the air. I would love to go and see the ocean again, I have seen it a few times when I traveled to Mexico.

Favorite restaurant:

I am a big fan of barbeque, with my favorite place being Smokin Barrel BBQ in Millard. My second favorite would probably be Porky Butts BBQ.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

My favorite thing about my job is working with everyone in the plant and the office and being the middle man. It is a nice middle ground.
