MHEDA Mourns the Loss of Jack D. Patten, Sr.

In Loving Memory

Jack D. Patten, Sr. – June 20, 1931 – November 18, 2024 (93 years)

Jack founded Materials Handling Equipment Company (MHECO) in 1952 and led it until 2002. MHECO was a leading “full line” material handling distributor, offering everything from casters and hand trucks to forklifts and automated systems. Jack was President of the MHEDA Board of Directors in 1963, one of the youngest to serve the industry in this role.

Jack was married to Dolores for 72 years. His community service included as Potentate of the El Jebel Shrine in Denver. He loved riding motorcycles (“bikes”) and he and Dolores rode them thousands of miles together. A memorial service will be held in May, 2025. Donations can be made to Shriners Hospital for Children.
