Jimmy Shoppa Joins a Community of Bold Leaders Dedicated to Ending Breast Cancer

As a Susan G. Komen® Pink Tie Guy Ambassador, Shoppa’s is Raising Vital Funds to Support Research, Advocacy, Patient Care, and Education in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

Fort Worth, TX — This year, Jimmy Shoppa has partnered with the Susan G. Komen® Pink Tie Guy Fundraising Program, pledging to raise funds in the fight to end breast cancer — a cause that holds a deeply personal meaning for him.

“Shoppa’s stands in solidarity with those affected by breast cancer and is committed to contributing to a brighter, healthier future for all. We are proud to play our part in this meaningful endeavor,” stated Jim Shoppa President, Shoppa’s Material Handling.

Susan G. Komen® is the world’s leading nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and eradicating breast cancer. Through Pink Tie Guys, leaders from both professional and community spheres unite to raise essential funds for research, advocacy, patient support and education — working together to create a future without breast cancer.

In addition to assisting in The Pink Tie Guy Fundraising effort, Shoppa’s saw an opportunity last year to promote the philanthropic efforts of the Susan G. Komen Foundation and purchased the distinctive pink forklift. The $65,000 auction proceeds were donated to the Foundation by Toyota and the forklift was brought back to the Dallas Fort Worth area where the Foundation is headquartered to help spread breast cancer awareness throughout the Metroplex.

Shoppa’s Material Handling was proud to be a part of the Susan G. Komen’s Race for the Cure in Plano at The Campus at Legacy. More than 5,000 breast cancer survivors, family and friends participated in the Lift For The Cure event which helped raise over $1 million. The iconic pink forklift was also featured at the More Than Pink Walk at the Shops at Cedar Fork in Fort Worth this past October.

The pink forklift is currently displayed at Shoppa’s Material Handling’s new Alliance headquarters located at 15000 Heritage Parkway Fort Worth, TX 76177 until later this month when it will be auctioned off to the local DFW business community with proceeds once again going to Susan G. Komen.
